Here’s why Hardik Pandya changed his shirt number from 228 to 33

Indian star player Hardik Pandya is considered one of the best all-round players in the world today. For the uninitiated, Hardik Pandya wore shirt number 288 in the limited cricket, but few people knew about it. the reason behind that number until Mohandas Mennon spilled the wick. Well, in 2020, statistician Mohandas Menon revealed the reason behind Pandya’s choice for the jersey.

Captain of the Baroda U-16 team, Hardik Pandya played a stunning 228 run against Mumbai Under-16 in a Vijay Merchant Under-16 tournament match at Reliance Cricket Stadium, Nagothane on December 9, 2009. that 228 is still the highest individual score of his career and it is also the double century he has achieved so far in his career.

Playing a stunning 228 from 391 balls, Pandya had led his team forward after being shocked 60 for 4. The shot made him famous overnight, with his pictures published in the local newspaper the next morning. Pandya’s coach Jitendra revealed in an interview that he said:

It was his first season and it was the start of his journey. Later, he arrived from the U-19 side and the transformation was smooth.

He added: “In that game he took five wickets in the first innings. This is how his career as an all-rounder began.

Well, Pandya no longer wears shirt number 228 and he now wears number 33 on his shirt since 2016.

The reason behind jersey number 33:

Although the correct reason why Hardik chose the number 33 for his shirt is unclear but it is believed to contain a numerology theory. The number 33 if the numbers are added turns out to be 6, and the number 6 has great significance in Indian cricket according to numerology experts. “Number 6 is very lucky for India. India with the independence date of August 15 ruled by 1+5=6 and the name number 3 is always lucky for Team India. of the calendar year or the date of the match, if the total is 6 or 3, India is considered to have an advantage.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the new T20 jersey for the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams. BCCI through their official social media account shared the photo of the new Indian jersey. Sharing the photo, BCCI wrote:
