PITMAN, NJ — The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its weekly men’s cross country honors for the week ending Sept. 25.

JASON MERCADO • Ramapo College
Juniors • Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson

Mercado earns his first NJAC Runner of the Week honor of the season after helping Ramapo finish second in the team at the TCNJ Invitational this weekend. Mercado placed 11th overall and second among NCAA Division III runners with a time of 26:21 on the 8k course at Ewing. The time marked a personal best for the junior. Ramapo finished with 63 points, second overall and best among D3 competition.

RYAN PENA • Ramapo College
Freshman • Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack

Pena receives his second NJAC Rookie of the Week of the season after leading Ramapo at the TCNJ Invitational over the weekend. He was the top finisher in D3 and eighth overall, only behind a contingent of runners from D1 Saint Joseph’s (PA). He completed the 8K course in 26:13 to help the Roadrunners finish second in the team standings only behind SJU.
