TCNJ Sweeps NJAC’s First Weekly Men’s Swimming and Diving Honors of 2022-23; Higgins, Weiss, Kidchob honored

PITMAN, NJ — The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its first weekly men’s swimming and diving honors of the 2022-23 season. The honors cover all performances for the week ending October 16.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
RYAN HIGGINS • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • River Edge, NJ/River Dell Regional

Higgins is named the NJAC’s first Swimmer of the Week for the 2022-23 season. In the season-opening win over William Paterrson, Higgins won all three events he entered (1000m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle relay) and had conference best times in all three races. . His 1000m time of 9:58.26 is the ninth fastest in the country, and his 100m time of 53.63 is the 18th fastest in the country.

DIVER OF THE WEEK
ETHAN WEISS • The College of New Jersey
Year Two • Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington

Weiss earns NJAC’s first Diver of the Week title of the 2022-23 season by winning both diving events in the season-opening victory over William Paterson. He qualified for the regional cups mark in both events and also achieved the top scores with scores of 290.60 in the 1 meter dive and 291.40 in the 3 meter dive. The honor is the ninth in Weiss’ career, as he is also the reigning NJAC Diver of the Year.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ANDREW KIDCHOB • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford

Kidchob is named NJAC’s first Rookie of the Week of the 2022-23 swimming and diving season. In his college debut, Kidchob won all three events in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke to help the Lions defeat William Paterson in the season opener. His 50 and 100 times were the fastest in the conference with times of 21.64 and 47.76 seconds, respectively.
